About Us

Schools and educational institutions at all levels are a key factor.  We need to support their teachers, students, school boards and parents.  We need to establish apprenticeships.

The intent is to provide appropriate assistance to individuals and organizations that are part of the education system.  Many individuals and organizations are already taking an active role in assuring the effective delivery of appropriate learning and we would like to help if we can.  H2Orbit can be a reference or rally point for students, teachers and parents.  It can also be referenced by school boards and city council members.

"How To Talk To A Climate Skeptic" is a blog published by the Grist Mill and is a great compilation of talking points.  These can help anyone who is preparing to get in front of audiences at any level.  We encourage everyone to become familiar with these talking points.

Assistance may be in any form that the H2Orbit organization is able to provide and that meets with approval of the approval of management.

H2Orbit strongly encourages parents, teachers and students to form an H2Orbit club in their school.  In fact we even encourage the formation of clubs in as many schools in your area as possible and allow the clubs to communicate with one another.  In this way students can share ideas, pool resources, team up on events, and participate in joint experiments.  They can also be useful in debates, and independant verification of observations.  Students will get first hand experience with the scientific method through these practices.  We would even encourage schools in the same area collaborate in the production of a single newsletter.  That way students will be infomed of activities in other schools close by.

Use this website to facilitate discussion amongst the club members.  Discuss what you can do in your local community.  How can you help the other students in your own school understand the situation and solutions?

Potential topics for school club discussion groups:

  • What are the real issues?
  • How are the real issues being represented in the media?
  • What can be done in your school and local area?
  • What can your club take action on right now?
  • Should CO2 be listed as a pollutant?
  • What are hydrocarbons?  How many different forms of hydrocarbons to humans consume?  Can you describe each and how they are used?  What alternatives are there?
  • Green methods of energy production.  Which ones are best and why.  What issues arise, even from those?
  • Work with a forestry center or the Arbor Day Foundation and plant trees in your community.
  • How is Global Warming affecting the planet?
  • Meteorology
  • Where do you hope to find job opportunities in the future?
  • What are we going to do with all the CO2 we remove from the atomosphere?  geo-sequestration, chemically bind it to produce solids, etc.
  • What methods can be used to remove CO2 from the atmosphere?  Synthetic trees for example.
  • How can your club work with other clubs at your school to create synergistic action?   Biology, chemistry, even sports?
  • Discuss how various engineering projects in the future will change things.
  • What kinds of materials can H2Orbit place here to support your groups efforts?  Send us feedback.
  • Have an H2Orbit click drive.  See how many new people you can get to look at this web site.  Then talk to them about their views.

These are just examples of topic areas for discussions.  Ask for guest speakers to talk to your group.  One of the most important aspects of these clubs is to develop leadership skills in young people.   Get them to think about what they can do and then help them get out and get it done.  Learning to take action is not easy and there will be many challenges and obsticles.  The challenges will help students to grow and learn.
