"The Bridge" will be a graphical representation of the critical path of execution required in order to achieve a sustainable biosphere.  Critical elements would be 'owned' by key volunteers in the areas actually working in that area or sector of the endeavor.  SPS construction needs aerospace engineers working on those projects today in space agencies.  Coral reef health needs marine biologists currently involved in those aspects.  etc.

The result of combining these will be an ability to "manage the gap".  The gap is the difference between "available sustainable energy" and "death of the biosphere" both based on what we know now.  Gap management must be completely transparent to  encourage open participation by businesses, entrepreneurs, and individuals to maximize innovation along the spectrum of vantage points, especially in engineering necessary solve the very real situation we are in and address the issues, and challenges as we implement the solution to achieve the vision.

H2Orbit encourages everyone, especially partners, to embrace effective programs and initiatives that maximize participation at all levels.

  • Graphical high level interface with drill down capability
  • Critical Path Identification
  • Adequate hierarchy of nesting features to accommodate the strategic vision, situation, issues, challenges, and tasks necessary to implement the solution.
  • Master strategic administration
  • Task and sub-project compartmentalization of critical path elements and data owners
  • Task to critical path time alignment management features
  • The objective is to leverage credible, capable, responsible volunteers in key aspect areas as 'data owners' for the elements of the example time line being demonstrated.  The demonstration then becomes quasi real in the sense that it represents a 'first pass' draft level take on our collective ability to actually accomplish the vision.  Managed in real time it would also show everyone in almost real time the extent of damage impact to our oceans and fish populations as we work elements along the time line.  The faster we accomplish objectives lessens the impact.
  • Fewer than 500 actual users of the "demonstration system".

When we are done it will allow participation by key scientists and individuals within the constraints of the example depicted.  The intent is not to provide the actual timeline; rather it is to provide an example of what that timeline might actually look like.   It will be up to institutions more capable that our meger efforts here to implement that master timeline.  We only hope our effort here can provide inspiration to those that must actually get the job done.

This is a simple list of elements that will need to be integrated into this project management plan in order to achieve success.  Each on their own is an incredibly complex topic so please don't beat us up too bad.   If you think we've left something out or need to restructure something a different way then please let us know using the feedback form.

A proposal for the Interplanetary Internet (IPN): Architectural Definition has already been proposed by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.  This section will be powerful when we are finished.
